Frozen Pre-Cooked Chicken Meatballs

Where to buy frozen chicken meatballs?

As the name states, you can buy frozen pre-cooked chicken meatballs in the freezer section of your local supermarket.

Tips on buying frozen chicken meatballs?

Look for 100% chicken AND natural ingredients when buying your frozen chicken meatballs. Food companies can be very sneaky and add in extra ingredients. Always make sure to look at the ingredient label on any frozen vegetable and double check the ingredient list is just chicken and other natural ingredients.

The chicken meatballs I used were Beetnik.  I found them at Wal-Mart. Beetnik is a gluten-free brand.

Olive Oil or Butter.

I encourage all my clients to use extra LIGHT olive oil. Extra light olive oil has a very mild taste. If you prefer butter, make sure to purchase 100% butter.

Salt (or seasoning of choice)

I love to use Redmond Real Salt, but please feel free to use your favorite seasonings.

Keto Sauces.

I am a huge fan of the G Hughes and Kevin’s Natural Foods line of sugar free condiments.

FAQ.

Are Chicken Meatballs Healthy?

You know me by now. The answer – read the label. If the chicken meatball is plain, it is a wonderful source of protein in the diet without any added sugar. Protein is important in any weight loss plan since it is found to have you eating LESS!  In a study published in Nutrition Metabolism, those who increased their protein intake to 30 percent of their diet ate 450 fewer calories a day and lost about 11 pounds over the 12-week study without doing anything else!

Gluten Free Chicken Meatballs?

Guess what?! I found them! Beetnik Chicken Meatballs are gluten free. But as always, read the label. Often, breadcrumbs are added to a burger mixture to ‘hold’ the product together. Read, read, read the label.

Keto Chicken Meatballs?

The answer – read the label. Often ‘fillers’ are added to our meatballs (I am looking at you bread crumbs). My goal is always to keep the carbs under 5 grams.

Keto Condiments?

Keto condiments do exist! PLAIN Mustard and PLAIN olive-oil based mayonnaise are naturally carb-free, but as a rule of thumb, read the label. Many of our naturally carbs free condiments have been manipulated with honey and sugar (think honey mustard). While many of us focus on carbs, read the ingredient label to make sure sugar, honey, agave nectar, or maple syrup are not in the condiment.

Keto Condiments:

  • Mustard
  • Mayonnaise

Keto Condiment Brands I Love:

  • Primal Kitchen
  • Kevin’s Natural Foods

Do You Put Oil in An Air Fryer?

Oil in the air fryer is an interesting discussion. You can USE oil in air fryer recipes, but DO NOT pour oil in an air fryer basket. Look for high smoke point oil sprays for the air fryer. The best oil spray for an air fryer is avocado oil since it’s smoke point is high and can handle the high temperature of the air fryer. You can use olive oil (I often use olive oil in the air fryer) if cooking at a slightly lower temperature 360 or less.

In this recipe, I used Extra Light Olive Oil.
